BUSHENYI- Bushenyi District Local Government has received Ugx 500 million shillings meant to renovate District Headquarters’ building.
The district is among the local governments with the biggest headquarters building and was started by former District Chairman Yowasi Rwamango Makaru in 1993.
The current Chairman Jaffari Bassajjabalaba the told our reporter that part of the building was affected by rain water and nearly collapsed.
The Chairman added that part of the money will be used in renovating the road leading to the District, buying furniture in some offices, renovating the District Council Hall as well as the general building.
Basajjabalaba hailed the Ministries of Finance and that of Local government for giving the District the funds and promised that it will be put to its proper use.
Bushenyi District Chief administrative Officer Malik Muhaba said the renovation works will soon start since everything is already in place.
“We already have everything in place and we shall soon start the works” Muhaba said.
The CAO noted that they will effectively use the fund to satisfy its needs.
