MBALE- The Ministry of Health Ministry has confirmed the first coronavirus death in Uganda.
The deceased is a 34 years old Kenyan woman who passed away on Tuesday July 21st, 2020 at a Clinic in Mbale.
The deceased according to information obtained by this online publication is a Kenyan national who has been married to a Ugandan.
At the time of her first admission, the deceased presented with Coronavirus related symptoms including fever, headache and difficulty in breathing.
Moriku Kaducu the state Minister of Primary Health care in the Ministry of Health confirmed that Samples obtained and tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute ‘UVRI’ in Entebbe turned positive for Coronavirus.
“The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the deceased was a coronavirus case” the statement read in parts.
According to the Ministerial statement, this becomes the first death to be registered by the Health Ministry and continued to urge Ugandans to remain vigilant following the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health in curtailing the scourge.
