KAMPALA- Former city mayor Nasser Ntege Sebaggala has died. Sssebagala passed on Saturday Morning September 26th 2020 at International Hospital Kampala, Namuwongo, a Kampala city suburb where he has been admitted for some time.
According to his son, Abdu Gamel Nasser Ssebaggala, the former mayor was taken into the intensive care unit on arrival at the hospital, after developing complications in the stomach.
“After having his supper on Tuesday, dad sat in the sitting room, listening to the radio, when he suddenly felt weak,” Gamel told the press at the time his father was rushed to the hospital. He said medics at the hospital rushed him to the ICU, to ascertain what had gone wrong.
According to the family, medics had informed them that the former mayor had developed a disorder in his stomach, commonly referred to as intussusception.
Sebaggala’s brother, Latif Ssebagala, who is also Kawempe North legislator, said: “Hajji underwent surgery and he is responding well to treatment. We are optimistic, his condition will improve.”
However news of his death broke out this morning though details are still scanty on what exactly caused his death.
