ITALY- Jacob Kiplimo fresh from setting a new meet record at the 59th Ostrava Golden Spike in the Czech Republic last week, the Ugandan has again shined at the 3000m men’s race at the Wanda Diamond League in Rome, Italy.
Kiplimo clocked 7:26.64 to beat Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen in an event at Stadio Olympico in Rome on Thursday evening. In winning the event, Kiplimo also bettered his previously personal best of 7:43.73 he set up in Doha in 2017.
In the process, Kiplimo also beat the National record previously held by Moses Kipsiro at a time of 7:30.95.
Pre-race favourite Ingebrigtsen finished second with a time of 7:27.05 while Australia’s Stewart McSweyn took third place.
