MITOOMA- Mitooma district has finally held elections for the NRM Youth Chairperson despite earlier disruptions.
The vote was by midday at standstill after one of the aspirants Byaruhanga Reggan was in police detention with some of his supporters at Mitooma CPS for yet to be identified reasons.
They were later released at around 1pm and voting proceeded at the district headquarters.
According to the results declared by the district Registrar Essau Nuwagira, Reggan Byaruhanga won with 30 votes against Namanya Adrian who only had 10 votes.
Vice Chairperson is Kyasimire Aubury.
For Older persons , Nsumbusha Stephen was elected the NRM Chairperson while Katereine Fabius Monday elected as Vice Chairperson.
Mugabe Emmanuel garnered 30 votes to win against Tumuramye Godfrey 04 votes on the People with Disabilities Chairmanship (PWDs).
Musiime Milton was elected the deputy chairperson for (PWDs).
