Ugandan celebrated BET Award winner Edrissa Musuuza Kenzo alias Eddy Kenzo who is trapped in Ivory Coast has cried out to government again for rescue. The singer has been in the west African nation for four months now and has on a regular basis cried out to the government to consider him in the repatriation processes that are going on.
The speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has last month called out on the Ugandan government to come to Eddy Kenzo’s rescue since he is a national icon. Kadaga also called upon the repatriation of several other Ugandans who were pleading to return home as a result of the effects of COVID-19 in their host countries.
Minister Sam Kuteesa had revealed that the government was in the process of bringing in Ugandan who were stranded in outside countries in a phased manner.
The first batch of Ugandans were flown in from Turkey, on Monday as 32 nationals returned from Sudan on Tuesday. 16 more Ugandans were brought in from Belgium and the Netherlands on Tuesday night, among others.
However, Kenzo and a few others in Ivory Coast have not been alerted on when they will be repartriated which has left Kenzo worried;
“Ndaba flights zileta abantu e’uganda Naye fe nga tetulina yadde esuubi. Mwatwerabira banange ,” Eddy Kenzo lamented on social media.
