BUSHENYI- There was drama in Katookye cell, Kizinda ward; Kizinda-Kigoma town council in Bushenyi district after a 55 year old woman was caught with stolen chicken.
Kevina Naju, a resident of the same area was nabbed by residents on Monday November 3rd, 2020 at around 11am after several accusations by neighbors of numerous chickens getting lost.
She was given 5 straight strokes of sticks by residents and she confessed to have stolen 3 other chickens within a month’s period.
The latest scenario happened on Sunday November 1st 2020 when she stole chicken from her neighbor commonly known as Brown which caused anger amongst residents resulting to her punishment.
The area Local Council Chairperson Mr. Emmanuel Katungi asked people to be vigilant and ensure tight personal security and for their property.
Mr. Arinaitwe Aron Kanyangoga, the area Local Council three Councilor warned residents against stealing from one another since the habit might cause insecurity in their area.
He however, condemned the increased animal thefts in the area especially for chicken, pigs, goats and sheep.
