KAMPALA- Uganda’s Health Ministry has confirmed 171 new coronavirus cases from samples tested on Friday October 2nd 2020.
This hikes the cumulative total of Ugandans diagnosed with the scourge to 8,662.
Among the new cases are 117 alerts and contacts 43 of whom are from Masaka, 28 from Kampala, 10 from Jinja, 12 from Kole, Bukwo 10, Lira 3, Apac 2 and Kisoro 2.
Others include 1 from Mukono, 1 from Namisindwa, 3 from Tororo, Wakiso registered 1 as well as Busia.
54 other new cases are returnees 48 of whom are from Jordan, 5 from Oman 5 and one from UAE.
The country has todate registered 4,546 recoveries and 79 coronavirus fatalities.
