KAMPALA- Uganda’s Health Ministry has registered 6 new Coronavirus cases from the 3,696 samples tested on 17 July 2020.
Of the confirmed cases, five (5) are returnees who were under quarantine at the time of test while the other one (1) case is an alert from Buikwe District.
Regarding the returnees, 4 returned from South Africa while 1 Indian, a resident of Uganda returned from India.
According to the ministry, a total of 26 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for Coronavirus at the border points of entry were not permitted entry into the country.
Todate, Uganda has registered a cumulative total of 1,062 cases and 1,048 recoveries Including both Ugandans and Foreigners.
The ministry says 169 are active cases on admission including 145 Ugandans, 22 foreigners and 2 refugees.
