There was a circulating video clip of a reported student of Gayaza High School as she performed the shameful act of night-dancing. The video was since fine viral and this has forced the management of the school to come out and issue a detailed statement about the matter.
According to the school, the student in the video is not their student currently, saying she was last their student in 2014. Upon completing senior six at the school, the student reportedly developed mental illnesses that barred her from proceeding with her education.
“Gayaza High School has learnt and noted with concern the social media publications of a video clip and photographs posted by an entertainment website – BigEye.ug on Sunday – 18 October, 2020 alleging improper conduct of one of our students,” the school head teacher Kizito Robinah Katongole revealed on Monday.
“Gayaza High School would like to clarify that the incident did not happen at the school. We have also established that the pictures show a former student who completed S6 in 2014 and has since her university days suffered mental health challenges.” Mrs Katongole added.
She added that the school is in close contact with the parents of the embattled girl to ensure that she gets the necessary treatment.
