There has been a bitter social media war against veteran presenter and former Baba TV presenter Basajja Mivule after he reportedly made derogatory statements against presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.
Basajja Mivule had reportedly called Bobi Wine’s People Power group as a loose group of scoundrels, drug abusers idlers, and gay people who don’t deserve to lead Uganda.
The presenter who had been critical of President Yoweri Museveni for promoting tribal imbalances and a favourite of People Power turned against the red camp and fumed at them for failure to stand with him when he for arrested. He also accused the group of using hood for nothing bloggers.
“President Museveni will not leave office only to be replaced with this bunch of rogues, imbeciles, drug addicts, and homosexuals. We deserve better as a country and we can’t afford to look on as our country heads into an unprecedented turmoil even God himself won’t allow that to happen,” claimed Basajja Mivule on social media.
However, his statement sparked anger in the red camp who took to social media in turns to vent out their anger and about obscenities at him for being a traitor. However, the former Baba TV presenter has now come out yo distance himself from insulting Bobi Wine, saying his statement was misinterpreted.
“I wonder why when you talk about their leader, they roast you, they make it to seem illegal to talk about him, we are going to fight that thinking. When you talk about People Power, they pelt you with stones to death. We cannot accept that. You see the photos the bad posts and photos of me putting on dresses among others, that’s very childish!” fumed Basajja Mivule.
