214 new Coronavirus cases increase Uganda’s tally to 5,595

KAMPALA- Uganda’s Health Ministry has confirmed 214 new coronavirus cases and a death bring to total 61 deaths and 5,595 cumulative cases.

According to the ministerial statement, the deceased has been a resident of Kampala.

In the same vein, the ministry adds that of the confirmed cases, 212 are alerts and contacts 58 of whom are from Pader, 38 from Kampala, 36 from Butaleja, 16 from Lamwo, 12 from Mbale , 10 from Jinja , 8 from Gulu, 7 from Arua, 6 from  Kapchorwa, 3 from Soroti and 3 from Wakiso.

2 cases were from Kween, 2 from Omoro, 2 from Adjumani, 1 from Alebtong, 1 from Amuru, 1 from Bukwo, 1 from Busia, 1 from Dokolo, 2 from Masaka, 1 from Masindi and 1 from Kikuube.

The other cases include a truck driver who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu border point of entry and a returnee from Rwanda.

The country has todate registered a cumulative total of 5,594 confirmed Coronavirus cases, 2,544 recoveries and sixty one coronavirus fatalities.
