2 more Ugandans succumb to Coronavirus, fatalities hit 32

KAMPALA- The Ministry of Health has registered 44 new coronavirus cases from the test done on Sunday August 30th 2020.

The new cases are part of the 2,397 samples. This hikes Uganda’s cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to-date is 2,972.

The Ministry as well recorded 2 Coronavirus death bringing to 32 the total number of Coronavirus deaths. The deceased are all natives of Kampala.

The new cases include 42 contacts of whom 31 are from Kampala, 5 from Wakiso, 2 from Kitgum, 2 from Arua as Gulu and Tororo each registered one.

Other cases include 1 returnee from UAE, a truck driver who arrived via Malaba.

Additionally, 4 foreign truck drivers including 3 Kenyans and a Burundian tested positive for Coronavirus at border points and their entry into the country was not permitted.

Uganda has todate recorded 2,972 total coronavirus cases, 1,288 recoveries and 32 deaths.
