17 NRM staff members quarantined after 2 workmates test positive for coronavirus

KAMPALA- Following an announcement by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba where 2 of the staff tested positive for Coronavirus an urgent meeting has been convened to plan for the rest.

According to the NRM Director of Information and Communication Hon Emmanuel Dombo Lumala, the Secretariat top Mangement team and the National Incident Management Team headed by Dr. Monica Musenero agreed to take action.

Hon Dombo said that after a thorough analysis of the risk and exposure of the members of the rest of staff, 17 others designated staff as high risks have been put under institutional quarantine for 14 days. 

Hon Dombo also said that starting tomorrow July 30th 2020, there is going to be a heightened strict observance of the Standard Operational Procedures to minimise exposure and risk.

The entire premises of the Secretariat was this evening  disinfected  before they are used again and the staff that didnt test on Monday this week will undergo a Coronavirus test tomorrow at the Secretariat and the  tests will have to repeat after one week.

Dombo called on all Ugandans to remain vigilant in the fight against Coronavirus and observe the Ministry of Health Guidelines.
