16 new Coronavirus cases hike Uganda’s infections to 927

KAMPALA- The Ministry of Health has confirmed 16 new coronavirus cases from the 5,133 samples tested on Friday July 3rd 2020.

This brings the cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 927.

According the Ministry’s breakdown, the new cases include 11 truck drivers; 9 of whom arrived from Kenya via Malaba, 1 arrived via Kerwa PoE in Yumbe District and 1 arrived from South Sudan via Elegu.

5 other cases are contacts including 4 from Amuru and 1 from Namisindwa Districts respectively.

Additionally, 42 foreign truck drivers tested positive for Coronavirus at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.

Uganda todate has 205 active cases on admission including 173 Ugandans, 25 foreigners and 7 refugees.

The country has already registered 868 total Recoveries from Coronavirus including both Ugandans and Foreigners.

The Samples tested yesterday included 2,993 from Points of Entry and 2,140 from Alerts and contacts.
